About Clara Pinto

Clara Pinto is a Fashion Designer from Buenos Aires, trained in visual arts and textile design. Her work is carefully crafted using organic materials to explore the concept of women: their anatomy, their battles, their weaknesses and strengths. She upcycles animal waste such as bones, wool and hair to create textiles with organic patterns and nature-inspired embroideries.

Clara was currently selected as a Studio Resident Artist at Sarabande: The Lee Alexander Mcqueen Foundation.

During 2018 she spent various months in Textilsetur Islands Residency in Iceland, where she collected raw wool and horse hair as well as compiling photographs of scars and marks in women's skin. The research and experimentation led to Mummies, her latest collection. Mummies was presented at the Argentine Ambassador's Residency in the context of the London Design Biennale.
