Clara Pinto is a London-based fashion studio founded in 2019, defined by material research and textile innovation with wool at its core. Each collection is developed through the exploration of different wool breeds, natural dye processes and innovative felting techniques, resulting in sculptural, handcrafted garments that redefine how wool is used in contemporary fashion.
-
Clara Pinto is based in London, with deep roots in Argentina where the designer's craft training began. Many of our pieces are hand-formed in Argentina and finished in our London atelier.

Clara Pinto is the founder and designer. Her craft foundation began with embroidery, shaped by her great aunt — one of Argentina's most respected haute couture embroiderers, who created gowns for Eva Perón. Clara studied fashion design in Buenos Aires before moving to London, where she was selected as a studio resident at the Alexander McQueen Foundation (Sarabande) and received London Fashion Week's DiscoveryLAB award in 2023. Her work has been recognised by WWD, Vogue Italia, Marie Claire, 10 Magazine and Harper's Bazaar UK.

Our signature technique is nuno felting — a process that binds wool directly to fabric, creating sculptural structure and fluid movement. We also work with wet felting, needle felting, 3D felting, structural draping and bio-supported volumes. Every technique is applied entirely by hand.
-
Nuno felting is a textile technique that bonds wool fibres directly into a woven fabric — such as cotton or silk — through heat, moisture and friction. The result is a single unified textile that carries both the structure of the base fabric and the texture and warmth of wool. At Clara Pinto, nuno felting is the foundation of our material research and the technique that gives our garments their distinctive sculptural quality.
-
Wet felting is one of the oldest textile techniques in the world. Wool fibres are laid out and worked by hand using water, soap and friction until they bind together and compress into a solid textile. At Clara Pinto we use wet felting to hand-form pieces like the Petal Bag, where each shape is individually coaxed into form — a process that cannot be replicated by machine.
-
Wool is at the heart of everything we make. We work with specific breeds of Merino and other wools sourced in Argentina, often in their natural undyed state or dyed using natural pigments such as cochineal. We also use deadstock fabrics, digitally printed tulle, natural silk and genuine leather — always with attention to material integrity and provenance.
-
Yes. Every piece is handmade. Garments are individually cut, sewn and finished by hand. Many involve multiple stages of hand work — from dyeing and felting the raw wool to constructing and reviewing each finished piece before it leaves our atelier. No two pieces are identical.
-
Made to order means each piece is made specifically for you after your purchase. We do not hold ready stock. This allows us to maintain the quality and individual attention each garment requires. Please allow approximately four weeks from the date of your order for your piece to be completed.
-

Our pieces reflect the time, craft and materials involved in making them. Prices range from approximately £300 for accessories to over £1,000 for made-to-order garments. Each piece is an investment in something handmade, individual and built to last.

Given the handcrafted nature of our materials — particularly felted wool and natural silk — we recommend gentle hand washing in cold water or dry cleaning. Avoid wringing or machine washing. Specific care instructions are included with each piece. If you are unsure, always contact us before attempting to clean a garment.
